Advice & guidance for student registration from 1st August 2020
Registration is the process of becoming an official member of the University and is required for all new students.
You should complete registration as soon as possible to start becoming an official member of the University and signify your intention to take up your place.
About a month before the start of your programme, we will send you an email asking you to begin registration. The email will be sent to your personal email account (the email you provided during the admissions process).
Once you have had your confirmation email, the Registration Centre will guide you through the stages needed to complete registration.
The username to use to get you started is simply the personal email address you gave us when you applied to the University. If your email address is no longer valid, please contact us via online chat or phone.
If you’ve forgotten your password, don’t worry – see Forgotten your password guidance to reset it yourself.

The registration process
All students will need to complete the following 4 stages in the Registration Centre:
- Confirm your details
- Set up a Lancaster IT account
- Provide a photo to use as University ID
- Provide Proof of Identity
Additional stages may be needed, dependent on your programme, residence and where you plan to study. If needed, you will be prompted for these within the Registration Centre:
- How are you paying tuition fees?
If requested, you must let us know how your tuition fees are going to paid, whether that is by you, by a loan from your regional Student Finance body or through sponsorship.
- Module enrolment
Undergraduate students will be asked to select and approve modules for Part I.
- International students
International students are required to upload some additional documents including:
- A copy of your visa to travel to the UK
- (If necessary) a copy of your ATAS certificate
- Under 18?
If you are under 18 then you will also need to resubmit the Consent Form for Students Under the Age of 18
Problems uploading documents on an iPhone?
If your image is too large, try again but select “Photo Library”. Tap the photo you’d like to share then tap “Choose Image Size”, then “Small”. Then tap “Done”.
Registration is the first step you need to take in order to fully becoming a member of the University.
Once you have completed all the relevant stages, we will contact you for details of the next steps, which include confirming your attendance, and International Check-in (if this applies to you).
